Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimize their tugboat and barge operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing crewing, fuel efficiency, scheduling, fleet readiness, and overall operational performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maritime operations, preferably within tugboat and barge services.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Proven experience in crew management and vessel scheduling.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Job Description

• Crewing Management: Oversee the recruitment, training, and scheduling of crew members to ensure optimal staffing levels and compliance with maritime regulations.
• Fuel Efficiency: Monitor and implement strategies to optimize fuel consumption, reducing operational costs while maintaining service quality.
• Scheduling: Develop and manage efficient scheduling systems for vessels, ensuring timely deliveries and maximizing fleet utilization.
• Fleet Readiness: Ensure all vessels are maintained in optimal condition, coordinating with maintenance teams for regular inspections and repairs.
• Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Performance Monitoring: Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations and address any issues promptly.
