Our client is one of the biggest industrial conglomerates in India. Their line of business include steel, ferro chrome, iron, minerals, and oil & gas. It’s a global operations with business activities in all five continents around the world.
They are currently planning to expand its mining operations to several countries, including Indonesia, and urgently looking to hire a veteran executive in the coal mining industry to fill the position of VP – Mineral Resources & Business Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of mining business, acquisition of coal mines at different locations.
- Managing entire operations with key focus on profitability & optimal utilization of resources.
- Executing various mining projects for extraction of coal; from mines entailing design, selection and provision of machines, facilities and systems for mining.
- Liaisons work with Central Government/Various Ministers in Indonesia, public relation work, managing clearances through government authorities, affiliated with trade bodies, in-depth analysis of probable business opportunity for mining.
- Analysis & finalizing various contracts / agreements from mining commercial point of view and negotiation of contract terms with suppliers , documentation related to Indonesian mining acquisition & agreement .
- Implementation of green-field mining projects including perusal with technical consultants, contractors and suppliers for timely commissioning, cost control of projects.
- Manage internal & external affairs for effective utilisation of resources, taking care of mining operations and statutory/safety aspects.
- Devising plans and directing various engineering aspects of extracting mineral resource from earth involving preparation of initial plans for type, size, location and construction of mines.
- Integrating solid management, business development and personnel leadership in pursuit of bottom-line goals and objectives.
- Designing and implementating systems, variance analysis, financial planning & analysis, cost control, international logistics , support for operational issues. etc.
- Leading and motivating teams to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Should have knowledge of mining operation / acquisition with 18 to 25 years relevant experience in overseas operation & acquisition, out of that must have around 10 years experience in Indonesia.
- Should be fully conversant with technical , legal and safety aspects of mining.
- Should posses strong leadership capabilities.
- Profound understanding of formulating and implementing business development strategies to enhance corporate growth in the natural resources sector.
- Possessed international exposure and proficient at project implementation, preparation of budgetary & commercial offers/ tenders and technical proposals for national & international clients.
- Exceptionally strong negotiating and deal-making qualifications that combines interpersonal communications, strong leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to direct high-level business affairs.
- Holds a minimum of Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Possessed international exposure and proficient at project implementation, preparation of budgetary & commercial offers/ tenders and technical proposals for national & international mines.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (written / verbal)
- Ability to understand technical specification and communicate/convincing effectively is an absolute must.
Preference will be given to Indonesian nationality or expatriates who have long experience and exposure in Indonesian mining business.
